Furygan Redington 3C Pants
Built for Every Mile, Every Forecast, Every Adventure
Few pieces of motorcycle gear work harder than a good pair of adventure-riding pants.
Unlike a jacket, which riders constantly adjust throughout the day, riding pants simply have one job: disappear. They need to remain comfortable through long highway stretches, technical dirt roads, hours of changing body position, unexpected weather, and even the walks that inevitably follow once the motorcycles are parked.
That sounds simple. It isn’t.
The Furygan Redington 3C Pants were developed with exactly that philosophy in mind. Designed to complement Furygan’s premium Challenger 3C PrimaLoft® jacket, they combine laminated waterproof construction, advanced ventilation, premium impact protection, and an ergonomic fit intended for serious adventure travel.
During our ride across Spain and Portugal, they proved to be much more than a technical specification sheet. They simply became one less thing to think about.
A Modern Three-Layer Approach
Adventure motorcycle apparel has evolved considerably over the last decade. Older systems often relied on removable waterproof liners, external rain gear, or heavy winter inserts that required constant changes as weather evolved throughout the day.
The Redington 3C follows a different philosophy. Its shell is built from a three-layer laminated polyester construction that integrates waterproofing, breathability, and abrasion resistance into a single outer structure. Instead of allowing the outer fabric to absorb water before a membrane blocks it, the laminated design prevents saturation from happening in the first place.
Combined with Furygan’s DRYCORE Pro membrane, the result is a garment capable of delivering 20,000 mm waterproofing and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability, placing it comfortably among today’s premium adventure riding equipment.
Like the Kalahari Jacket, the Redington also reflects Furygan’s environmental direction, featuring a 100% recycled outer fabric with a PFC-free water-repellent treatment, reducing environmental impact without compromising durability.
Protection That Moves With You
Adventure riding demands protection that works both on and off the motorcycle. The Redington includes D3O® protectors at both the knees and hips. One of the greatest strengths of D3O technology is its ability to remain remarkably soft during normal movement while instantly stiffening during impact to absorb kinetic energy.
In practice, the armor never draws attention to itself. Hours spent alternating between seated highway riding, standing on the pegs through rough terrain, and walking around historic villages never created pressure points or restricted movement. The overall feeling is one of freedom rather than bulk. Exactly what modern adventure equipment should provide.
Climate Management Without Compromise
Perhaps the biggest challenge for adventure pants is thermal management. Legs are constantly exposed to engine heat, direct sunlight, wind, rain, and changing elevations throughout the day.
Redington addresses this through several complementary systems rather than relying on a single solution. Its AFS Max (Air Flow System Max) ventilation allows riders to regulate airflow according to conditions, while the laminated shell prevents external moisture from penetrating the garment.
For colder climates, Furygan includes a fully removable PrimaLoft® Black thermal liner, manufactured entirely from recycled materials. PrimaLoft has earned an excellent reputation across the outdoor industry for providing warmth while maintaining low weight and compressibility.
Interestingly, during our test we never installed the thermal liner. The temperatures varied considerably throughout the trip, yet the laminated construction and breathable shell alone provided enough comfort that we simply left the liner behind. That says a great deal about the effectiveness of the overall design.
Tested by Real Weather
Weather forecasts rarely survive adventure travel. Neither did ours. Over the course of several riding days we experienced dry highways, cooler mountain roads, scattered showers and extended periods of continuous rain.
The Redington handled each transition effortlessly. Water remained outside. The pants never became heavy or waterlogged. Even after hours of riding in persistent rain, they continued to feel surprisingly light and comfortable.
Equally important, once the weather improved, the laminated shell dried quickly rather than remaining soaked for the rest of the day. This is one of the major practical advantages of laminated adventure apparel, and Furygan executes it exceptionally well.
Designed Around Movement
Long-distance comfort rarely depends on a single feature. Instead, it’s the accumulation of dozens of small ergonomic decisions. The Redington demonstrates this philosophy throughout its construction.
Stretch panels positioned between the legs, above the knees, and across the lower back allow unrestricted movement while standing on the pegs or shifting body position during technical riding. Its tapered cut keeps the silhouette clean without sacrificing mobility, offering generous room where riders need it while reducing unnecessary bulk lower down. Adjustable waist tabs accommodate different body types, while the lower leg opening expands to fit a wide variety of adventure and off-road boots.
The removable suspenders deserve special mention. Many riders either love suspenders or refuse to wear them. Furygan wisely allows both approaches. They provide excellent support during long days in the saddle and can be removed in seconds whenever a more traditional pant configuration is preferred.
Storage Where You Need It
Adventure riders rarely travel light. Maps, wallets, phones, gloves, earplugs, and small tools constantly move between pockets throughout the day. The Redington offers five external pockets, including practical cargo-style thigh pockets that proved especially useful during our trip.
Everything remains easily accessible while standing beside the motorcycle without creating excessive bulk or interfering with movement. A full-length connection zipper also allows the pants to integrate seamlessly with compatible Furygan jackets, creating a unified weather barrier while improving overall comfort during long rides.
Materials Built for Adventure
Behind the scenes, the Redington is constructed from materials selected specifically for long-term durability. The laminated polyester shell provides abrasion resistance while maintaining flexibility. High-tenacity polyamide panels add further strength in high-wear areas, while water-repellent treatments help prevent moisture accumulation before it can even reach the waterproof membrane.
The result is equipment that feels substantial without becoming unnecessarily heavy. It inspires confidence without sacrificing comfort.
Living With the Redington
Perhaps the most revealing compliment we can give the Redington 3C is how quickly we stopped noticing it. It never became excessively warm. It never felt restrictive. It handled changing temperatures naturally. Rain simply became another part of the ride rather than something requiring wardrobe changes.
At the end of each riding day, the pants remained comfortable enough for walking around towns, checking into hotels, or enjoying dinner before the next morning’s departure. For adventure travel, that matters far more than laboratory numbers ever can.
Adventure motorcycle gear succeeds when it removes obstacles rather than creating them. The Furygan Redington 3C Pants achieve exactly that.
Their combination of laminated waterproof construction, highly effective climate management, premium D3O protection, thoughtful ergonomics and excellent long-distance comfort creates a riding pant equally at home crossing mountain ranges, exploring backroads or covering long highway miles. Rather than chasing extremes, Furygan has focused on balance. The result is a premium adventure pant that performs confidently across a remarkably broad range of riding conditions, and one that consistently allows the rider to focus on the journey instead of the gear.
