Dec 23, 2024 | News

Aprilia Tuareg Racing Team is set to defend its title at the highly anticipated 2025 Africa Eco Race. Following a historic debut victory in 2024, the team aims to maintain its momentum with a talented trio of riders and the finely tuned Tuareg Rally motorcycle. The race kicks off with a presentation in Monte-Carlo on December 28, followed by 12 demanding stages that promise to test skill, endurance, and determination.

The Team: Champions and Rising Stars

  • Jacopo Cerutti returns as the defending champion after a stellar rookie season. Riding with confidence and extensive training under his belt, Jacopo is focused on conquering the nearly 2,485 miles (4,000 km) of timed sections and leading his team to another triumph.
  • Francesco Montanari is eager to build on his strong 2024 performance. After a year of intense preparation, he’s determined to climb higher in the standings and challenge his rivals with precision and determination.
  • Marco Menichini, the newest addition to the team, will race in the Junior class for riders under 25. With a promising debut in the Africa Eco Race last year, Marco is prepared to tackle the grueling stages with grit and enthusiasm.

The Route: A Race Through Legends

Starting in Tangier on December 31, the 2025 Africa Eco Race spans a total of 3,667 miles (5,903 kilometers), including 2,219 miles (3,572 kilometers) of timed stages. Riders will journey through Morocco’s rugged landscapes, Mauritania’s vast sand dunes, and Senegal’s iconic Lac Rose, where the race concludes on January 12.

Aprilia Tuareg: A Proven Champion

The Tuareg Rally motorcycle, developed with the Guareschi brothers’ GCorse, has dominated rally raid competitions throughout 2024. Victories in the Motorally G-1000 class, Hellas Rally Raid, and Baja Aragón showcase its exceptional capabilities across diverse terrains. As the team prepares to defend its title, the Tuareg Rally stands as a formidable machine ready to shine once again.

Voices from the Team

  • Jacopo Cerutti: “The dream is to win again, despite the challenges that await. Navigation is key, and every stage will bring surprises, but I’m ready to give it my all!”
  • Francesco Montanari: “I’ve trained hard all year, and I’m ready to push for an even better result. Winning a stage would be a dream come true!”
  • Marco Menichini: “Racing with the Tuareg Rally is an incredible experience. The stages will be tough, but I’m focused on finishing strong and giving it my best effort.”

A Confident Start
