BTA Magazine at the Touratech DirtDaze Rally
An Adventure on Two Wheels
Day 1: A Journey of Challenges and Triumphs
The event started with a meeting at the garage, where seasoned motorcyclists Ed and Rusty helped us prepare the bikes for the journey. Our group of five, consisting of Mariano on the impressive Africa Twin 2024, Rob on his reliable Honda 500X, and myself on the new Transalp 2024, accompanied by Ed and Rusty on their respective motorcycles, set off westward from New York. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing; Ed suffered a puncture during the ride, forcing us to stop and repair the tire right on the road. Despite the setback, we continued and finally made our way north, crossing into Vermont.
Day 2: Discovering Lisbon and the Touratech DirtDaze Rally
The second day began at 10 a.m., as we left the lodge and headed to Woodstock for a quick lunch. After a brief break, we continued toward Lisbon, arriving around 2:30 p.m. In Lisbon, we first tasted the Touratech DirtDaze Rally, an event that brings together adventure motorcycle enthusiasts to explore the most challenging terrains. After checking in at the Hampton Inn and taking some photos around town, we wrapped up the night with dinner at Applebee’s, where we shared our expectations for the day ahead.
Day 3: Testing the New Hondas and a Conference on South America
The third day was undoubtedly the highlight of our journey. We arrived early at the Touratech DirtDaze Rally, eager for what the day had in store. At noon, we had the opportunity to test the new Honda CRF 300 L Rally and CRF 450 RL, two motorcycles designed for dirt road enthusiasts. These bikes proved perfect for challenging terrains, offering a combination of power and maneuverability that impressed everyone.
In the afternoon, at 5 p.m. sharp, BTA Magazine had the honor of presenting a conference on “Riding in South America,” where we shared our experiences and tips for those adventurers interested in exploring the continent. The night concluded with dinner with the Honda team, where we exchanged ideas and stories about our shared passions.
Coming Soon in BTA Magazine
