Alpinestars Bionic Action V2
Ultralight Protection with Maximum Ventilation
Off-road riding demands a balance of mobility, ventilation, and reliable impact protection. The Alpinestars Bionic Action V2 Protection Jacket delivers exactly that, an ultra-lightweight, CE Level 1 certified upper-body armor system engineered for performance without unnecessary bulk. With updated ergonomics, improved airflow, and a design focused on real-world usability, the V2 stands out as a versatile option for motocross, enduro, and technical dual-sport riding.
Advanced Cell Technology for Cooling and Impact Absorption
At the core of the Bionic Action V2 is Alpinestars’ new Cell Technology chest protector, featuring a highly perforated shell that dramatically increases ventilation while maintaining strong impact resistance. The divided chest construction not only improves mobility but also makes the jacket quick and easy to put on, an advantage during long riding days or training sessions.
The back protector also uses next-generation Cell Technology, incorporating a flexion channel that allows the panel to adapt naturally to body movement. Whether you’re standing on the pegs through rough terrain or leaning forward on a climb, the protector bends with you. Both chest and back protectors are supported by foam padding, providing a secure, stable, and comfortable fit that stays in place even during aggressive riding.
Ergonomic Fit Focused on Freedom of Movement
One of the standout qualities of the Bionic Action V2 is how seamlessly it integrates with the rider’s body. The padded chassis offers a close-to-body fit without pressure points, while the full perforation pattern ensures consistent airflow across the upper body. Riders who train in warm climates, or anyone who spends long days working through technical terrain, will appreciate just how effectively the jacket keeps heat buildup at bay.
Alpinestars also redesigned the elastic buckle closure system to make it faster and easier to adjust. These new buckles fit a wide range of body sizes and allow for quick tension changes, whether worn over a base layer or under an enduro jersey. Meanwhile, the shoulder straps feature a rotating buckle attachment, enabling greater arm articulation and reducing restriction when maneuvering the bike, pushing uphill, or navigating obstacles.
Neck Brace Compatible and Upgrade-Friendly
For riders seeking full-system protection, the Bionic Action V2 is compatible with Alpinestars’ Bionic Neck Support (BNS A or X-Strap) systems, ensuring seamless integration with cervical protection. This makes the V2 a strong foundation for building a complete protective setup.
Lightweight, highly ventilated, and impressively comfortable, the Alpinestars Bionic Action V2 Protection Jacket offers an ideal blend of mobility and impact protection for demanding off-road environments. With advanced ventilation, ergonomic refinements, and compatibility with neck brace systems, it stands as one of the most well-rounded protection jackets in its class, at a price point that makes it even more appealing.
Field Use: Ride-Ready Protection with All-Day Comfort
This was our main base layer armor during the California North BDR trip, worn under the Alpinestars Venture XT jacket. The compatibility between both pieces worked great, especially on long days when we needed solid protection without adding unnecessary bulk.
The Bionic Action V2 feels a bit strange the first time you put it on, like stepping into a sci-fi exosuit. But that feeling disappears the moment you swing a leg over the bike and hit the trail. The mesh chassis provides excellent airflow, making it perfect for hot weather and slow, technical riding where ventilation matters most.
All protective elements are integrated into the breathable base layer. The back protector and chest plate offer generous coverage and real peace of mind, especially when riding through tight forest trails where low branches and surprise drops can catch anyone off guard. We all like to think we’re Dakar-level riders, but let’s face it, most of us are just regular humans trying to keep the rubber side down. And for that, good protection isn’t optional.
Despite its full coverage, the setup stayed comfortable all day. We wore it across changing altitudes and terrain, and it never felt restrictive. When the weather turned, we layered the XT jacket over it, and the combination gave us both impact protection and climate control without compromise.
