Alpinestars Pro-Dura Gloves

Alpinestars’ 2026 Pro-Dura glove is aimed squarely at the enduro and off-road market, built to blend protection, feel, and durability. We took a pair on the northern leg of the California Backcountry Discovery Route to see if the tech translated to the trail.

The test route was a proper gauntlet: scorching highway slab out of Los Angeles, followed by the cooler, mixed-terrain switchbacks and dusty trails of the Sierra Nevada.

The first impression was the fit. The Pro-Duras felt broken-in from the first mile. This is a direct result of the multi-panel stretch top construction and full stretch, breathable backhand. The glove moves with your hand, and in the LA heat, they remained comfortable and vented.

Fit is often a challenge, especially for riders with wider palms. The Pro-Duras slid on easily, thanks to a seamless bonded cuff and a smart, textured pull tab at the base—a small detail that makes a significant difference when you’re geared up on a dusty trail.

Control was excellent. After a few miles, the gloves “disappeared,” which is the highest compliment you can pay a piece of gear. Dexterity comes from stretch Lycra fourchettes (the material between the fingers) and a one-piece synthetic suede palm with integrated stretch zones. This combination gives a precise, tactile connection to the bike. The silicone print on the first and second fingers isn’t just for looks; it provides positive, no-slip traction on the levers.

This is an enduro glove, and it’s built to protect. Protection comes from a new two-piece articulated TPR knuckle. “Articulated” is the key word. It flexes as you grip, eliminating the stiff, armored feeling of some older designs. This is backed by TPR and padded finger reinforcements. The Pro-Dura is fully CE-certified to Level 1 KP standards, meaning its protection is verified.

For modern BDR navigation, the conductive fingertips on the index and thumb worked flawlessly on our phone and GPS screens. No more pulling a glove off just to check the next turn.

The Alpinestars Pro-Dura is a technical, lightweight glove that delivers a high level of dexterity without sacrificing certified protection. It proved to be a comfortable, capable piece of gear that performed reliably on both the long tarmac stretches and the demanding off-road sections of our test.
