Ducati Enters the Dirt

The Desmo450 MX Arrives April 3rd

Apr 1, 2025 | News

Ducati is about to do something it’s never done before: go full throttle into the dirt. On April 3rd, 2025, the Italian marque will unveil its first-ever motocross bike—the Desmo450 MX. This marks the start of a bold off-road expansion and a significant pivot in Ducati’s storied history.

Titled “Ducati World Première 2026 – Episode 1: The Dawn of a New Era,” the launch will stream live at 4:00 PM CEST on Ducati.com and the brand’s YouTube channel. While the “2026” label hints at the future range, this episode is all about the here and now—the introduction of Ducati’s long-rumored, race-bred dirt weapon.

The Desmo450 MX is Ducati’s first purpose-built motocross machine, developed directly from the racetrack with an eye on both competition and future product development. Ducati claims the bike features “unique solutions,” a phrase that suggests more than just a red frame and a Desmodromic valve system. Expect Ducati’s signature engineering finesse to meet the raw demands of MX.

This isn’t just a bike launch—it’s the first domino in a new Ducati off-road lineup. The Desmo450 MX paves the way for a broader range of dirt-focused engines and motorcycles, aimed at putting Ducati on the map in motocross, enduro, and beyond.

High-resolution images and detailed specs will drop simultaneously on Ducati’s media platform once the episode airs.
