Pierce Brown Gains Momentum in AMA Supercross with Top-Five Finish in Arlington
In an impressive display of resilience and speed, Pierce Brown of Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing showcased his racing prowess at the Arlington round of the 2024 AMA Supercross Championship. The event, which marked the second stop of the 250SX East season, saw Brown securing another top-five finish, propelling him to second place in the championship standings.
The Arlington event, celebrated as the Military Appreciation Round at the AT&T Stadium, witnessed Brown overcoming a challenging start in the Main Event. Despite qualifying in third and finishing sixth in his Heat Race, Brown’s Main Event start was less than ideal. However, his determination and skill saw him charging from outside the top ten to finish in fifth place, marking his second-straight fifth place of the season.
“Pierce Brown’s showing in Arlington highlighted his rapid pace and steadfast determination. Starting from a disadvantaged position and finishing strong in fifth place demonstrates his capability and determination as a rider,” said a team spokesperson. “This result solidifies his standing in the championship, placing him second in points and showcasing the competitive edge of the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing team.”
In the premier 450SX class, Brown’s teammate, Justin Barcia, faced adversity with a heavy crash during practice but showed remarkable resilience. Despite the setback and a challenging day, Barcia managed to clinch a win in the LCQ and fought hard in the Main Event to finish 14th. His perseverance keeps him in contention, currently standing 11th in the championship rankings.
The Arlington Supercross was a display of the highs and lows inherent in the sport. From Brown’s comeback to Barcia’s persistence after a crash, the event highlighted the spirit of AMA Supercross racing. As the season progresses, the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing team looks forward to building on their successes and overcoming challenges, with their sights firmly set on the upcoming Daytona event.
With the AMA Supercross Championship heating up, fans and competitors alike are eagerly anticipating the next rounds. Brown’s ascent in the standings and the team’s overall performance in Arlington are clear indicators of their potential and ambition for the 2024 season. As the series moves forward, all eyes will be on Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing to see if they can maintain their momentum and challenge for top honors in both the 250SX East and 450SX classes.
