Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally 2026
Ultimate Adventure Machine
In the evolving world of adventure touring, Ducati presents the 2026 Multistrada V4 Rally, a motorcycle created for travel across vast distances and challenging landscapes. Designed in Borgo Panigale and refined through years of development, this new Rally edition unites power, endurance, and the precision of Italian engineering.
From its Granturismo V4 engine to the radar-assisted safety suite, the Multistrada V4 Rally redefines what it means to explore without limits. It’s a motorcycle for riders who crave more than a destination, those who find meaning in the miles, the changing terrain, and the freedom of the open world ahead.
Whether navigating high-altitude passes, drifting over gravel roads, or devouring highway miles two-up, the new Multistrada V4 Rally is Ducati’s most capable long-distance companion yet, powerful, intelligent, and effortlessly versatile.
Engineered for Endless Exploration
The Multistrada V4 Rally was designed as a faithful long-distance companion. Every component serves a purpose: endurance, comfort, and control across a wide range of conditions. Its 8-gallon fuel tank extends riding autonomy and encourages uninterrupted travel through remote regions.
The motorcycle’s frame and suspension geometry invite confidence on varied terrain. The Adaptive Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO continuously adjusts damping to maintain stability and comfort, whether crossing mountain passes or moving through uneven gravel. The system reads the terrain and adapts in real time, keeping the motorcycle composed and predictable.
Rider and passenger comfort play a central role in the Rally’s character. A wider windshield, refined aerodynamics, and enhanced seat ergonomics provide a calm cockpit even after long hours. Combined with heated grips, multiple seat height options, and a carefully tuned riding position, the result is a motorcycle ready for sustained exploration.
Power and Precision: The Granturismo V4 Engine
At the core of the Multistrada V4 Rally lies the 1,158 cc Granturismo V4 engine, a powerplant that blends smoothness with strength. It produces 170 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 91 lb-ft of torque at 9,000 rpm, with a linear delivery that responds with clarity at every throttle input.
The V4 layout integrates a counter-rotating crankshaft, a solution developed in Ducati’s MotoGP program to enhance balance and control. This configuration reduces the wheels’ gyroscopic effect, creating a sensation of agility and precision when shifting direction.
A key innovation is the extended rear-cylinder deactivation system. When the motorcycle is at a standstill or operating at low rpm, the rear cylinder bank pauses combustion, reducing fuel consumption and heat. The transition between active and deactivated modes is seamless, maintaining the ride’s continuity.
The Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 system uses a new sensor arrangement within the gear drum, removing the need for a traditional microswitch. The mechanism shortens the shifting motion and gives the rider a direct, mechanical feel during upshifts and downshifts.
Durability is integral to the engine’s design. Valve clearance inspections are scheduled every 37,000 miles, and oil service intervals are every 9,000 miles or 24 months, reflecting the reliability demanded by long-distance riders.
Adaptive Suspension and Handling Innovations
The Multistrada V4 Rally introduces a refined understanding of suspension dynamics. Its semi-active Marzocchi system operates with 200 mm of travel at both ends, managed by the Adaptive Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) EVO platform. The system interprets surface conditions and riding input in real time, maintaining stability across rough terrain and smooth asphalt alike.
A new algorithm, the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), enhances the system’s perception of motion. By simulating the feedback of dozens of sensors, the DVO refines suspension calibration, wheelie control, and cornering ABS responses with higher precision. The result is a motorcycle that remains balanced during acceleration, braking, and mid-corner transitions.
Riders can fine-tune suspension response on the move. The preload management function automatically adjusts the setup to compensate for passenger weight or luggage, maintaining consistent geometry. Additional modes allow quick adaptation between relaxed travel and sport-oriented control without interrupting the journey.
The Electronic Combined Braking System complements these dynamics with a front-to-rear and rear-to-front modulation strategy. When the front lever is applied, the rear brake supports the maneuver; when the rear pedal is pressed, the system gently activates the front calipers. A 280 mm rear disc and 330 mm front rotors with Brembo Stylema® calipers ensure balanced braking performance and steady control even under full load.
The repositioned swingarm pivot increases anti-squat behavior under acceleration, supporting traction and composure while climbing or cornering. Spoked tubeless wheels with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear carry Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires, chosen for their blend of road comfort and off-pavement grip.
Cutting-Edge Safety and Technology
The Multistrada V4 Rally integrates a comprehensive electronic ecosystem designed to assist the rider without diminishing engagement. The foundation is a radar suite that supports Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and the new Forward Collision Warning. The system monitors surrounding traffic and alerts the rider with subtle visual cues on the dashboard, helping maintain awareness in changing conditions.
The Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) coordinates multiple safety layers, including Cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) DVO, Traction Control (DTC), and Engine Brake Control (EBC). Each function adapts to lean angle, speed, and grip, creating a smooth interaction between power and chassis balance.
Visibility during night travel benefits from a complete LED headlight system equipped with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) that illuminate the inside of a turn. The Coming Home function keeps the low beam active for a few seconds after shutdown, providing light when parking or opening a garage. Riders can also add an accessory rear fog light for enhanced presence in low-visibility weather.
The Automatic Lowering Device assists at low speeds by slightly reducing ride height when the motorcycle slows below 6 mph, improving stability during parking or maneuvering. Once in motion, the system automatically restores normal suspension height, adapting its behavior for on-road and off-road conditions.
A 6.5-inch full-color TFT display anchors the cockpit. The interface clearly presents ride data and integrates Ducati Connect, enabling navigation, calls, and music via a helmet intercom. Heating controls for the grips and optional seat appear in a redesigned, intuitive layout, keeping every essential function within easy reach.
Comfort That Goes the Distance
Endurance travel depends on more than power and technology. The Multistrada V4 Rally carries a design that respects the rhythm of long journeys, focusing on posture, wind protection, and the shared experience of rider and passenger.
The cockpit is defined by a broader, taller windshield that extends coverage by 20 mm in height and 40 mm in width. Airflow management around the rider’s shoulders and helmet reduces turbulence and noise, creating a calm space for extended rides. Deflectors on the fairing edges channel wind smoothly, keeping both occupants protected in variable weather.
Passenger comfort receives equal attention. The pannier’s mounting provides the panniers with a geometry that leaves generous legroom, while the top case support, a solid die-cast structure, adds security and stability. Heated seats are standard, and both rider and passenger can select from multiple height options to match body dimensions or preference.
For added convenience, a redesigned center stand simplifies lifting the bike for loading or maintenance, and the heated grips, adjustable through five intensity levels, offer consistent comfort in cold climates. The riding triangle encourages a neutral posture that reduces fatigue while keeping complete control on winding roads or dirt trails.
These subtle yet significant details shape the Multistrada V4 Rally into a motorcycle ready for long-distance travel, where comfort becomes endurance.
Design, Trim, and Color Options
The Multistrada V4 Rally presents a visual language that speaks to both refinement and endurance. The bodywork maintains Ducati’s signature sculpted lines while incorporating details built for function. The brushed aluminum fuel tank becomes a focal point, framed by robust side panels and a tall stance that conveys readiness for distant routes.
Two distinct color schemes define its character: Ducati Red / Brushed Aluminum with black spoked wheels and Jade Green / Brushed Aluminum with gold spoked wheels. Each emphasizes a different expression of travel, one rooted in tradition, the other reflecting the quiet confidence of exploration.
In North America, the model arrives in a single configuration: Adventure Travel & Radar. This trim includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, and Forward Collision Warning, along with aluminum side cases, heated seats, and the complete radar-assisted safety system. The package equips the motorcycle for immediate touring capability without additional preparation.
Ducati also supports personalization through a catalog of accessories and apparel. The aluminum panniers feature a new lock mechanism that allows operation without a key, even when the panniers are removed from the bike. Additional windshields, luggage solutions, and seat options let riders tailor the motorcycle to their travel style.
Complementary riding gear, such as the Tour Summer and Strada C5 outfits, extends the Rally’s identity into the rider’s wardrobe. Designed for changing climates, these garments integrate ventilation, thermal layers, and waterproof membranes, following the same philosophy of adaptability found in the motorcycle itself.
A Machine Built for Boundless Travel
The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally 2026 represents the evolution of the adventure touring motorcycle into a machine defined by endurance, control, and precision engineering. Every element, from the Granturismo V4 engine to the Adaptive Skyhook Suspension EVO, from the radar-assisted safety suite to the long-range 8-gallon tank- serves a single idea: sustained motion through unknown territory.
The Rally transforms long-distance riding into a continuous experience of confidence and comfort. Its electronics support rather than interfere, its ergonomics encourage miles rather than limit them, and its design carries the unmistakable signature of Ducati craftsmanship.
For riders who see travel as a form of exploration and motorcycles as instruments of expression, the Multistrada V4 Rally offers a complete and deliberate approach to the open world, capable, connected, and enduring.
